The graduate student forum was recently started to offer BMB graduate students and postdocs the opportunity to practice presenting their research in an informal setting for a diverse scientific audience. Presenters are encouraged to use the forum as practice for prelims, defenses, national conferences or other formal talks. It also provides an excellent opportunity for students get to know the research being carried out by their fellow BMB colleagues.
The forum fulfills one of the public speaking requirements for graduate students.
Snacks and refreshments are provided, and following the first talk of the month everyone is invited go to happy hour at Harper’s.
To sign up, or if you have questions, contact Mike Ruckle (rucklemi@msu.edu) or Shannon Bell (bellsha1@msu.edu).
